Reconfigurations of Nation
June 15 Fri
1 p.m. Signos/Masakit sa Mata

Masakit sa Mata is a 1991 documentary shot in 16 mm on Manila’s street children lists as its co-directors now-luminaries Ditsi Carolino, Cesar Hernando, Joseph Fortin, Mario Guzman among others who were part of a workshop conducted by German nationals Michael Wulfes and Christian Weisenborn.

Signos made in the twilight years of the Marcos dictatorship is described as a “protest documentary” attributed to “Mike De Leon, Jose F. Lacaba, Sylvia Mayuga, Ricardo Lee, Ding Achacoso, Joe Cuaresma, Lito Tiongson, Jovy Zarate… along with many others who helped shoot footage for the film but for reasons (understandable) at that time… did not want their names included in the credits.”

Admission is free and open to the public on a first come, first served basis.
