Shirley Palileo is a faculty member of the UP Film Institute and a former Director of the UPCMC Office of Extension and External Relation — where she spearheaded the UP Gawad Plaridel, a UP System Award for the exemplary practice of film and media profession for 6 years (2013-2019). She is a film and media studies scholar whose published works and research interests remain within the tenets of film language, performativity, cosmopolitanism semiology, ideology, iconology, post-modernism, and post-colonialism. She directed, wrote, and managed production and conferences for national and international projects. She is also a certified trainer for conflict sensitive journalism.
