The UP Film Institute (UPFI) is currently seeking applicants for the:

 

 Cinematographer II, SG-14 position

Qualification Standards:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree

Experience: 1 years of relevant experience

Training: 4 hours of relevant training

Eligibility: Career Service Professional

Terms of Reference:

  1. – Supervises the technical staff involved in the coverage of special events, programs, projects, workshops sponsored by the Institute and directly operate the production equipment as needed.
  2. – Assists and/or performs pre-production conceptualization and visualization requirements of the events, programs,  projects, workshops and other film-related activities sponsored by  the Institute.
  3. – Assists the other sections of the Film Center and customers of the Institute in their creative and technical services requirements as approved by the Section Head, i.e. video documentation and coverage of special affairs and occasions; concepts, designs, manual and computerized layouts and printing supervision of information and promotional materials.
  4. – Supervises the operation of production equipment such as film and video cameras, VTR recorders and players and projectors and provides recommendations for its maintenance.
  5. – Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Unit Head and Faculty Coordinators.

 

Media Production Specialist II, SG-15 position

Qualification Standards:

Education:

  •             Bachelor’s Degree relevant to the job
  •             Experience: 1 years of relevant experience
  •             Training: 4 hours of relevant training
  •             Eligibility: Career Service Professional

 

Terms of Reference:

  1. – Oversees and/or directly performs the gathering, collating and classifying data on foreign and local film releases from periodicals, distributors, related agencies and internet for the Institute and film screening.
  2. – Submits recommendations to the Faculty Coordinator for Academic Programs & Research and College Librarian IV for the audio-visual and film materials to be acquired by the Institute.
  3. – Assists the Faculty Coordinator and College Librarian in establishing, developing and sustaining network and linkages with local and foreign audio-visual and film institutions such as foundations, film companies and other related institutions.
  4. – Attends meetings, seminars, conferences, symposia, public relations functions that are related to the mandate of the Institute.
  5. – Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Faculty  Coordinator, College Librarian or the Institute’s Director.

 

Movie Equipment Technician III, SG-11 position

Qualification Standards:

Education:

  •           High School graduate or completion of relevant vocational/trade course
  •           Experience: 2 years of relevant experience
  •           Training: 8 hours of relevant training
  •           Eligibility: Movie Equipment Technician MC No.10, S.2013-Category II

 

Terms of Reference:

  1. – To operate and maintain the audio and video facilities assigned to the Film Library and Archives Section.
  2. – To file audio and video tapes of the UPFI Film Library and Archives Section.
  3. – To clean and perform minor repairs on film archives.
  4. – To monitor the temperature of the film archives vault on a daily basis.
  5. – To assists the Film Library and Archives Section personnel in its daily operation.
  6. – Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Unit Head and Faculty Coordinators and the Film Library and Archives Section personnel.

College Librarian IV, SG-22 position

Qualification Standards:

Education:

  1. Ph D. degree; or
  2. MA or MS degree plus 24 units of advanced graduate work completed; or
  3. MA or MS degree

Experience:

  1. Two (2) years of professional experience in library/information work or in teaching Library Science/Information Science/Management; or
  2. Three (3) years of professional experience in library/information work or in teaching Library Science/Information Science/Management; or
  3. Eight (8) years of professional experience in library/information work or in teaching Library Science/Information Science/Management

Training: n/a

Eligibility: RA 1080 (Librarian)

 

Terms of Reference:

  1. – Handle the acquisition, collection, and maintenance of audio-visual and film materials such as film negatives, newsreels, 16mm films, scripts, magnetic clips, film stills, film ephemerals.
  2. – Supervise the exchange or circulation as well as the classification, cataloguing, indexing of audio-visual and film materials.
  3. – Undertake specific programs to retrieve cinematic works by Filipino directors.
  4. – Supervise the preservation/archiving and storage of audio-visual and film materials housed in the UPFI vault.
  5. – Attend to the needs of film researchers.
  6. – Establish, develop, and sustain network and linkages with local and foreign audio-visual and film institutions such as foundations, film companies, and private collections pertaining to film matters.
  7. – Preserve and maintain personal memorabilia of filmmakers and scholars donated specifically to UPFI.
  8. – Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Unit Head and Faculty Coordinators.
